          Mentawai people are native to the Mentawai Islands in West Sumatra.They live the lifestyle of hunters in the coastal environment and forests on these islands.

       The Mentawai tribe is one of the most interesting tribes in the Mentawai world.

who are the Mentawai people?
      The Mentawai people live on the island of Siberut about 100 miles from Padang,the capital of west Sumatra and can be found again by boat.Siberut includes Mentawai islands which include Sipora, north Pagai and south Pagai.
    Mentawai is the only animism in Sumatra. They believe that everything in nature has a spiritual essence, and they live in harmony and reconcile with the nature around them.

      You will leave Padang with a trusted and responsible guide from the village,who will make sure you have everything you need while staying after you arrive at Siberut, the Mentawai guide will be there to welcome you and spend the entire period of your stay with you,teach you and share with you his knowledge of the Mentawai people and their culture, assisted by some motivated Mentawai people.
